GIS-Based Water Network Management System for Voluntari

In the project Technical Assistance Services for the Management of the Regional Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Development Project in the Europavol Operating Area – 2014-2020, we played a pivotal role in the development of a GIS (Geographic Information System) for the water and wastewater network of the Voluntari city.

Key Activities:

– data collection to ensure a complete inventory of Voluntari City’s water and wastewater infrastructure within a geographic database
– topographic surveys, orthofotogrammetry, vectorization of obtained plans
– comprehensive measurements and detailed inventory of Voluntari city’s water and wastewater network (network trajectories, material specifications, geometric details, age assessment, depth determination, soil type identification, road surface classification, invert and flow elevations, connection points)

Leveraging a combination of precision equipment and classical or photogrammetric methods, we conducted comprehensive topographic surveys across an extensive network of water and wastewater infrastructure in Voluntari City. We meticulously surveyed 150 kilometers of water supply pipelines, capturing precise spatial data for accurate network representation. We thoroughly surveyed 112 kilometers of sewerage pipelines, ensuring comprehensive documentation of the wastewater collection system. We inventoried over 10,000 individual infrastructure elements, including pipes, slide gates, hydrants, manholes, and pumping stations, creating a detailed digital record of the network’s assets.
